Lakeside Smoothing Plane (P45)
The
cutter says lakeside, the body says Made in USA, it's about the size of
a Stanley #4. Nice and heavy, that's about all I can tell
you. $8.00
Metal Spokeshave. Chinese? (P44)
It
looks and feels solid, but the only markings are on the cutter. It
looks like - "Diamond Brand" and then below that a bunch of letters in
Chinese or Chinese-looking language. $4.00
Stanley Handyman H1204 Plane (P43)
Some
of the blue finish is missing on the wood, but it's complete on the
body. Handyman was one of Stanley's economy-priced planes and this #4
sized one doesn't look like it saw much use. A quick honing and you've
got a clean, decent user at a good price. $8.00
Stanley #102 Block Plane (P42)
It's
won't take more than a clean rag to wipe off the grease, and this will
be a nice little plane. Japanning is about 75-80 percent or more. No
chips, breaks etc. Very comfortable to hold. I don't know if that's a
spot of yellow paint on the lever cap, or remains of a decal. $10
Stanley #80 Scraper (P41)
Finally something to list on this page besides regular old planes. Here's a Stanley #80 cabinet scraper - B casting on the body, no blade (make one from an old sawblade.) $10
SOLD
Defiance (Stanley) Jack Plane (P40)
This
is one of Stanley's economy line planes. Body is marked Made in USA,
cutter says DEFIANCE MADE IN USA. The varnish is about worn off the
rear tote, which will make it easier to refinish or just sand smooth.
$6.00
Sargent Transitional (P39)
The
wood is complete and whole - no splits etc and it doesn't look like the
bottom is worn down a lot. Marked on front Sargent & Co. No. 3415.
Full-length cutter is also marked Sargent in an oval.
If you like transitionals, you can use this one with just a quick sharpening. $18.00
Fulton Jack Plane (P37)
There
is a raised bar behind the front knob that says FULTON. The cutter says
MOHAWK, something I can't read (starts with an S) and Made in USA. Rear
tote is busted and will need replaced. 14" long. $9.00
American Boy Block Plane (P30)
These
planes were actually made years ago by Delta (yea the power tool
company.) The
cutter is cheap and if you want a user it should probably be upgraded.
But the locking mechanism is pretty cool and it's marked American Boy
in raised letters on the back of the bed. $4.00
Sargent #418 Jointer Plane (P38)
The
lever cap has a small chip on the bottom edge, the cutter is a Stanley.
Otherwise, it's a nice Sargent 18" long baby jointer, similar to the
Stanley #6. $22.00
More Block Planes (P36)
Yes I got lazy and crammed 5 planes into one picture.
All
are the same style - a post comes up from the bed, blade sits on the
post, round knob tightens down from the cap to hold it tight. Left to
right: Unmarked Red, Unmarked Blue, Stanley Handyman (missing knob),
Stanley Defiance (says so on the cap) and Stanley Defiance (says so on
the cutter.) $4 each for the Defiance, $3 each for the rest.
Handy Andy Block Plane (P19)
Handy
Andy was a type of toy tool-kit, you know that. This is their version
of a knuckle-joint plane. It looks funky, but I think with some
sharpening it would actually cut decently. Buy it to complete your toy
set, or to use. $4
220 style block planes (P29)
Left
(P29A) is a Great Neck G2 from back when Great Neck were decent tools.
Some nicks in the cutter which will need reground/sharpened. $4.00
Right (P29B) is a Rev-O-Noc from the HSB Co. $8.00
